As nobody paid the fees for the delilinux.org domain and I cannot change the starting page I decided to stop the work for DeLi. It's a pity, but I think it makes no sense to continue as haary seems to let DeLi die.

Well, the dellilinux.org domain seems to be back. This domain is sponsored by Normworks, a company from turkey and I have no influence on it.

It is right that I simply have no time for DeLi, mostly for private reasons (divorce and the trouble that comes with it).

The second thing is, that I had no idea which direction Deli should go. The GNU/Linux environment is getting more and more complicated, the number of different subsystems ist growing and it is becoming more and more difficult to control it (udev and HAL, just to name few). In the future there would be no alternative to migrate to kernel 2.6, which would mean to support those things which would mean that more system ressources are needed. But then DeLi would be no different than other Distros like Arch or Slackware.
Sure, we can still use uClibc, but my last tests with the newest versions (about half a year ago) showed, that this is pretty unstable and unusable for a desktop system.

Then there is the Internet. The WWW is almost unsusable without Javascript, Java and Flash these days. Any Desktop OS that deserves this name should support it. Hell, even my mobile phone can play flash videos. But to support this stuff you must have enough computing power. The computers that DeLi was created for doesn't have that power.


Does anybody have an idea?
